The DSe Takes Shape.

The sheathing of the hulls finally reveals their slippery form. Note the fine entry both above and below the waterline.

Framing for the wet deck is well underway revealing the final form of the DSe hull.

The hull plug has been turned upright after the hull mold was made and is awaiting having the deck plug set on top for final fitting of the hull to deck joint.

The finished hull mold reflects exactly the surface created during months of work on the hull plug. After polishing and multiple coats of wax, she’ll be ready for the first production hull.

The deck plug is being polished after all the details have been completed. Right under the worker is the modified deck hatch leading to the aft starboard motor compartment - reason for the modification? To allow easy access for the pair of Seqways now standard with each DSe!

George Petrie, N.A., checks out the chain locker hatch on the foredeck of the DSe. Behind him is the port generator room hatch. All these hatch sizes are critical for proper access to the spaces below decks. Note the recess on center for the sloped anchor chute.

Steve Hwang checks some measurements for the DSe cockpit plug. You can see the generous U-shaped settee wrapping around the after end. Hatches give access to good storage areas.

The laminating crew applies the initial layers of fiberglass to the cockpit plug. This will become a part of the cockpit mold from with production parts will be fabricated.
